Cast Drawing at The Royal Art Society
This course offers a focused study in cast drawing—an essential practice rooted in academic art training. Working from plaster casts of sculpted figures, students will develop core skills in observation, proportion, tonal rendering and draftsmanship. The stationary, three-dimensional nature of the casts, combined with their uniform white surface, allows for clear and uninterrupted study of how light interacts with form. Under Evert’s guidance, students will learn to train the eye to see angles, shapes and translate subtle tonal shifts into convincing, lifelike drawings using time-tested techniques and tools. Ideal for beginners and experienced artists alike, this course builds a strong foundation in drawing, that supports all forms of visual expression.
